The forthcoming election gives you the opportunity to elect representatives who will support your priorities, but you need to make sure you are registered to vote first. It’s easy to get caught out, particularly if you have moved recently or if you are just approaching the age to vote.
You can register any time until 12 working days before the election, which is to say, before 26 November. That’s also the deadline for requesting a postal vote.
The registration process is very simple and doesn’t take long. You’ll need your national insurance number (which will appear on your payslip). The BBC link below takes you through the process in a very straightforward fashion.
